CCS Home:Beyond the Challenges of the Pandemic

It has been 3 years since the start of the global pandemic. Here in Concordia Home, was a mixture of overcoming challenges, celebrating successes, and recoveries. We have been blessed with 25 children this year and 110 sponsored children to support and help. Through the grace of God, the Concordia home has now opened its doors to visitors since the closing in 2020 and has continued to accept visitors who wish to share love and happiness with the children.

Moreover, preventive measures were put in place to ensure the children’s and the community’s safety. Physical interaction is still prohibited, and only fully Covid-19 vaccinated persons are allowed to go inside the premises. Despite the limitations, there there was an outpouring amount of love and strength from the community, which the Concordia children received through generous donations. CCS is fortunate enough to resume indoor activities and outreach programs and build partnerships with like-minded advocates and volunteers to innovate and develop our programs for children.

August 19, 2022, marks an important milestone as Concordia Children’s services celebrates its 39th anniversary since welcoming our home in 1983 with a vision “to nurture and care for every child in a loving Christian family.” Throughout these years, we have reached out to provide a safe home for the country’s neglected, abandoned, surrendered, and urban poor children. Together, we have given hope and a better future through our programs. Ultimately, It has been an honor for us to be in service and have been able to continue through your perpetual and unceasing faith in our ministry, especially in times of need.

In addition, this year has been extra special for Concordia as we celebrated the graduation of eight of our children from kindergarten. We marked this important milestone with gifts for the graduates and a special ceremony. It was an excellent opportunity to come together as a community and recognize our children’s hard work and achievement. We are so proud of them and excited to see what the future holds for them.
