A community that advocacy built: A donation story
- by Jenicka
This August, Concordia Home faced an unprecedented challenge as 18 of our RH children will be attending their face-to-face schooling for the first time. As a result, Concordia home had to procure school materials such as uniforms, shoes, and other school necessities for the children to use in their new and exciting journey in their life.
In response to the children’s need, the Concordia family reached out to the community for help, organizing a donation drive for school supplies. Through God’s will and compassion, the call for help was answered by abounding community members and supporters, including families and individuals who generously donated the uniforms, school shoes, bags, lunch boxes, school material, and time to the cause.
The response was overwhelming as CCS not only collected all the school supplies needed but also was able to provide much-needed flu vaccines to the 26 children by Mr. James Sy and his family and friends. There was a fervent amount of joy and happiness showed on the children’s faces when they received their new uniforms and shoes. In addition, the children were vaccinated and protected before the start of classes on August 22, 2022, which made them ready for school. Ultimately, the donation drive has created a sense of community that formed around the cause.

With your support, we are able to provide essential services to children and families across the country. We cannot do this work alone, and we need your help to continue our mission. There are many ways you can get involved, including donating to our cause, sponsoring a child, or helping us spread the word about our work. Every little bit helps, and we are so grateful for your support. Thank you for being a part of our community and helping us make a difference in the lives of children everywhere.
