Our Future Police Officer: An urban poor success story

Bobby was only a grade 4 student when he was accepted into the EAS program last August 2009. Being a sponsored child, he is very participative in attending different activities and events in Concordia. He is known for his friendly demeanor toward people, is polite and helpful, and often shows leadership that everyone admires. During summer vacations, he would help his family by working as a shipper in Navotas City and as a packer and bundler in a warehouse near his residence. He continued to strive for his best in school and was awarded various academic awards despite the challenges he faced in life.

Bobby remained dedicated to his studies as he was determined to finish his education. He attended the University of Manila as a Criminology student and received yearly financial assistance for his tuition fees and other school-related payments. To provide for his other expenses and continue to assist his family, he worked various odd jobs, such as selling eggs and Leche flan, eventually becoming a Food delivery courier.

He managed to stay focused on his academics and finished college even as a working student. He is now a graduate with a degree in Criminology and has passed the pre-board exam. Now, he is preparing to take the Criminologist Licensure Exam 2022 before submitting himself ready to work!

The lift of Bobby has been proof that proper access to education is a key factor in achieving the full growth and potential., But apart from this, it proves that education helps improve lives and produces excellent and responsible citizens of our country. who act, think, and fight for what is right. But most of all, education helps people realize the importance of hard work, perseverance, and dreams of a better future ahead.

Congratulations to our future Police Officer, Bobby D. Pascua! We will always be proud of you!

“I would like to thank Concordia, especially to my sponsor, for allowing me the opportunity to study and, most of all, finish my education. ‘m forever grateful to be part of the CCS family, which has helped many children like me. Through their guidance and support, I realized my dreams and now trying to make them happen. I pray to God that He may bless everyone at Concordia, its staff, sponsors/donors, and all the children; may their dreams come to reality.

As a graduate of BS Criminology, who continue to aspire to be a licensed Criminologist and soon to be a police officer, I promise to serve and protect the people of our country. My oath will always be to give justice to whoever needs it and fight for the welfare that the Filipino people deserve.

My family and I are grateful for the trust and assistance Concordia has given me. I will always try to be a better person and give back the kindness I have received.

Thank you very much, and may God bless you more.”  – Bobby D. Pascua
