Miracle Gift

During the night of June 2019, CCS received an unexpected visitor. It was a newly birthed mother who was uncertain of what to do and where to go. In her arms was a tiny baby girl, barely hours old. The mother had not expected to get pregnant, but she knew she couldn’t abandon her baby. It would not have survived if she just left her somewhere.  In the midst of her anxiety that night, an unexpected miracle happened. Though young and tired, the mother’s instinct was strong; her feet continued walking and brought her to the gates of CCS, which she had heard of,  as being a refuge for abandoned babies.

In the following days and weeks, CCS became a haven for the mother to think, ponder her plans, and somehow lighten her burden.  After six long months, the mother reasonably assessed her situation and understood that her miracle baby should be given to another family through legal adoption.  The mother was very cooperative and was active in making sure that everything was in order for the child to be legally adopted. The pandemic delayed the process but the mother kept her determination to have the child adopted.

The baby is cute and charming. People who visit CCS have been overly fond of her because of her charms. She’s like a little Angel, but more of a miracle.  After the pandemic lightens, the mother will continue the process of legal adoption.  She believes that the best gift she can give to the child is a capable family so that her miracle can also be a gift for another family.
